Do you ever find yourself staring at a blank screen thinking, ‘what do I post this week?’, you’re not alone.
Creating new content from scratch all the time can be draining, especially when you’re juggling client work, admin and a never-ending to-do list.
The good news is you don’t need to keep reinventing the wheel. You can make the most of what you’ve already created by repurposing old content and not only will it save you time, but it can also actually boost your visibility too.
Why repurposing works
You might feel like you’re repeating yourself, but the reality is most people haven’t see all your content. And even if they have, repetition is a good thing. It builds familiarity and reinforces your message.
According to HubSpot, businesses that publish consistent content generate 67% more leads than those that don’t.
So, if you have a bank of old blog posts, Instagram captions newsletters or Lives – you are sitting on a goldmine of reusable material.
What types of content can be repurposed?
- Blogs can become Instagram carousels or reels
- Instagram captions can be turned into email tips or graphics
- Lives or videos can be turned into short-form clips, quotes or transcriptions
- Client questions can become FAQs, blog topics or story polls
- Testimonials can be reused in graphics, stories, or embedded on your website
Simple ways to repurpose your content
Refresh old blog posts
Have a blog from last year that’s still relevant? Give it a quick update, tweak the introduction, add a new example, check any stats or links and re-share it. Add ‘Updated for 2025’ to let readers know it’s current.
Turn long-form into bite-size
Take a blog post or video and break it into a mini-series of Instagram tips. One blog with 3-5 points could fuel an entire week of content.
Re-use top-performing posts
Scroll back through your Instagram insights. What posts had great saves, shares or comments? Repost them with a new image, updated caption or a fresh CTA.
Use different formats
Don’t just repeat the same thing – switch it up. A quote from a podcast can become a visual graphic. A caption can become a voiceover Reel. A testimonial can be a story sticker.
Create a content folder
Start a folder in Google Drive or Notion with your best-performing content, testimonials, blog links and video clips. This becomes your content treasure chest you can dip into when inspiration is low.
Repurposing content isn’t lazy – it’s smart.
You’ve already poured time and energy into creating valuable content. Now it’s time to make it work harder for you.
So, next time you’re short on time or ideas, look back before you look forward. You may already have everything you need.
